Students, renters and move-in season
Many people around George Mason live in shared houses, off-campus apartments and rented rooms. Furniture gets passed along from one tenant to the next, and roommates come and go every semester. Treatment options
- Heat treatment, $2.00/sq ft: The space usually takes 15 minutes to 2 hours to reach temperature, then we hold it for about 3 to 5 hours. Most jobs are done in one day, and heat jobs also get an Aprehend application. Heat kills every life stage, eggs included.
- Aprehend, $0.75/sq ft: This is for early infestations, and only where someone sleeps in the room regularly. It takes 30 to 45 days, and you may see some continued activity. That's an important point for students: a room that sits empty over winter or summer break is not a good candidate for Aprehend. It also leaves 3-month residual protection.
- Hybrid, $0.85/sq ft plus $500 per heated room: We heat the rooms with confirmed bugs and apply Aprehend to the rest of the home. You can sleep in the treated room the same night.
We don't do K9 inspections ourselves. If you want one, we'll refer you to an independent company that only does inspections.
Why we say skip the foggers
Foggers can push bed bugs deeper into a building. We once had a hotel set off foggers before a heat treatment, and a one-room job became 13 rooms. Using OTC sprays or foggers can also void your warranty. Learn more in Why DIY bed bug treatments fail.
Warranty and financing
Our 6-month warranty covers live bed bugs in treated areas, as long as the required prep and aftercare are done (guarantee). Wisetack financing is available from 3 months to 5 years, subject to approval (financing). We offer same-day emergency service 7 days a week. We can't guarantee a specific response time, and we're not a 24/7 service.
